Requirements

  • In-depth understanding of suicide prevention, behavioral health crisis management.
  • Knowledge of 988 Crisis Program, including its operations, goals, and integration within the broader crisis services.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication for interacting with team members, stakeholders, community partners, and individuals in crisis.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Understanding of grant-funded initiatives.
  • Ability to ensuring compliance, reporting, and sustainability planning of grants.
  • Graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor’s degree in human services, public relations, grant administration, public administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead outreach efforts to build and maintain relationships with crisis continuum partners and stakeholders.
  • Represent the 988 Crisis Call Program at community meetings across the service area to assess needs and identify service gaps.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and materials to raise awareness of 988 services.
  • Draft and facilitate memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with partner agencies to support service coordination and data sharing.
  • Support volunteer recruitment, training, and monitoring in collaboration with the 988 Crisis Services Program Manager.
  • Promote recovery-based principles in all internal and external initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for outreach and grant activities.
  • Provide oversight and leadership for grant-funded projects, ensuring alignment with the grant application and Notice of Award.
  • Collaborate with state and federal partners to meet grant objectives and maintain compliance.
  • Monitor and report on grant deliverables, including progress reports, data submissions, and performance metrics.
  • Work closely with internal data teams and the Project Evaluator on data collection, quality measures, and reporting.
  • Submit amendment requests and communicate staffing or scope changes to federal partners as required.
  • Monitor project budgets, approve expenditures, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of 988 Crisis Call Center operations, crisis intervention techniques, and best practices in mental health crisis response.
  • Apply analytical skills to interpret data and trends for program improvement and decision-making.
  • Use conflict resolution and interpersonal skills to influence diverse groups toward shared goals.
  • Operate relevant software and technology used in crisis call centers and grant management.
  • Ensure that all report requirements are submitted within the required timeframes.
  • In collaboration with the 988 Program Manager, develop project plans, project schedules, budgets, and expenditures.
  • Completes mandatory training per policies.
