About The Position

The Grants and Contracts Management Analyst provides administrative and fiscal support for Office of Academic Affairs unit‑sponsored projects and grants in support of Principal Investigators (PIs). The analyst supports PIs throughout the grant lifecycle, including pre-award and post-award administration while ensuring compliance with institutional policies and sponsor regulations. Pre-award responsibilities include monitoring and disseminating funding opportunities and independently coordinating the preparation, assembly, and submission of grant proposals. The analyst manages proposal documentation and required administrative components to ensure submissions are complete, accurate and processed in accordance with the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) timelines. The analyst also supports budget development by preparing budgets, verifying calculations, and assisting with the collection of required subrecipient documentation. Post-award responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and processing financial transactions, reconciling grant expenditures, and independently resolving fiscal or compliance issues in accordance with federal regulations, institutional policies, and sponsor terms and conditions. The analyst collaborates with other team members to support PIs and PI staff with grant-related purchasing, travel, HR appointments, and subaward or consultant expenses. Additionally, the analyst monitors grant activity to ensure accurate accounting of expenditures, prepares financial forecasting reports and supports award closeout activities. The analyst performs additional duties related to grants and contracts management as assigned, including supporting award modifications, spending projections, and compliance documentation. The analyst also supports managerial and cost accounting functions by preparing and analyzing standard and ad hoc financial reports, monitoring budget variances and preparing monthly reconciliations reports sent to OAA unit leadership. The analyst collaborates with fiscal team colleagues to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely fiscal period closes. This position applies working knowledge of sponsored research compliance requirements, federal regulations, and institutional policies to support accurate and compliant grant administration. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational and analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail, and effective written and interpersonal communication skills. The candidate also applies collaborative and problem‑solving skills to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a cooperative, service‑oriented work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of relevant experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Two to four years of relevant experience
  • Certified Research Administrator (CRA)
