About The Position

The Grant Administrator supports YWCA Utah's fundraising goals by researching, writing, and managing grant applications across public and private funding sources. This role is responsible for the full grants lifecycle, from prospecting and application through reporting and compliance, and works closely with the Director of Development, Chief Development Officer, Finance, and Program staff to ensure accurate and timely grant administration. This is a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented, mission-driven writer who is energized by complex funding environments and collaborative work. This position includes a 90-day probationary period, during which performance will be reviewed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of grant writing experience, including both public and private funding sources
  • Demonstrated track record of successful grant applications
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously and work collaboratively across departments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and donor management or grants tracking systems
  • Commitment to YWCA Utah's mission to eliminate racism and empower women
  • Must be able to pass a Department of Health and Human Services background check, E-Verify, and i9 requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with federal or state public grant programs, including compliance and reporting requirements
  • Familiarity with Raiser's Edge or similar CRM
  • Experience in a direct service, advocacy, or social justice organization
  • Knowledge of Utah's public and philanthropic funding landscape

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify public and private grant opportunities aligned with YWCA Utah's programs and priorities
  • Write compelling, accurate, and timely grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and applications
  • Maintain a grants calendar and ensure all deadlines are met
  • Tailor applications to funder priorities while maintaining consistency with YWCA Utah's mission and voice
  • Prepare interim and final grant reports in accordance with funder requirements
  • Coordinate with Finance and Program staff to gather accurate financial and programmatic data for reporting
  • Track grant terms, conditions, and deliverables to ensure full compliance
  • Support coordination on public grant spending and bill-out processes in partnership with Finance
  • Support the CDO and Director of Development in maintaining relationships with current and prospective funders
  • Assist with funder communications, acknowledgments, and stewardship as directed
  • Maintain accurate and current funder records in Raiser's Edge
  • Support cultivation and stewardship of corporate partners and sponsors in collaboration with the Director of Development
