About The Position

The Grant Administration Specialist is an opportunity to develop a career in research administration while gaining grant lifecycle knowledge through varied assignments across Mass General Brigham Research Management, MGB entities, and external clients. The Research Support Services (RSS) Team provides consulting support for special projects, complex programs, high-volume workload periods, staffing gaps, and in-depth training. Its mission is to address grant administration needs and provide exceptional customer service to research investigators and collaborators. Assignments may involve short- or long-term consulting commitments and may cover proposal preparation, post-award management, financial analysis, contracts, and process improvement. The specialist may serve as the primary contact for Principal Investigators and Department Administrators or work alongside other Department Administrators. New team members complete required training, work with RSS colleagues and mentors on Pre-Award, Post-Award, Contracts, and Finance assignments, and learn the Insight grant management system and relevant NIH and institutional policies. The specialist researches and answers inquiries, communicates policy and documentation requirements, and is expected to transition to independent work with minimal supervision, usually within three months. This is a full-time remote role available from most US states, with a Monday-through-Friday schedule during standard Eastern Time business hours. Remote work requires a stable, secure, quiet, HIPAA-compliant workspace, which will be confirmed by Microsoft Teams video.
