This role involves planning, organizing, and coordinating the centralized accounting and financial reporting for an assigned grant portfolio. The position is responsible for the creation and preparation of invoices, including state or federal contract invoices/billings and collection of funds. It ensures compliance with grant contracts, administrative guidelines, and Federal, State, and local grants. The role also handles intercompany transactions, coordinates with key personnel for proper expenditure of grant funds, and prepares fiscal reports for timely submission. Additionally, it involves month-end close duties, reconciliation of accounts receivable, preparation of A/R subsidiary reports, and performing various month-end financial statement close duties. The Grant Accountant applies accounting principles to analyze financial information, prepares audit worksheets, and recommends improvements to accounting processes. Assistance is provided for fiscal year-end closing and audits. Other responsibilities include preparing and entering journal entries, schedules, and reports, and ensuring the accuracy of accounting data through reconciliations.
