This role is responsible for taking stenographic notes of grand jury proceedings using a stenotype machine at a rate of 175 words per minute for two-voice dictations. These notes are then converted into "minutes" for trial preparation. The position involves performing difficult and responsible stenographic activities, taking verbatim statements and testimony, transcribing this material, appearing in court to testify about the accuracy of statements and testimony, and maintaining records and files. There is potential for supervision of other personnel.
