About The Position

The Grain Location Manager leads the operations of a grain facility with a focus on excellence, safety, and service. This role ensures the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of grain while upholding the highest standards of quality and compliance. By guiding teams, optimizing processes, and fostering trusted relationships with farmers and community partners, the Grain Location Manager strengthens the cooperative’s reputation, supports producer success, and sustains market competitiveness. Their leadership directly advances the cooperative’s mission to deliver value to member-owners, safeguard agricultural integrity, and contribute to the vitality of rural communities.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Agri-Business Management or other business/agriculture related field of study (6-7-9 years of related job experience may substitute for education).
  • 3-5 years of industry experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in team leadership.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Profit & Loss Statement responsibility.
  • 3-5 years of experience in developing and executing marketing plans.
  • Commercial driver’s license (Class A) or ability to obtain within 30 days.
  • HAZMAT, Tanker and Air Brake endorsements or ability to obtain within 30 days.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn business accounting systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • 7-9 years of industry experience.
  • 7-9 years of experience in supervision.
  • 7-9 years of experience in developing and executing marketing plans.
  • 3 years experience as a Grain Location Manager.
  • Agricultural cooperative or agriculture related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage grain handling processes, including receiving, storing, blending, and shipping grain.
  • Guide, motivate, and support their team toward achieving shared goals.
  • Build strong relationships with farmers and customers, ensuring satisfaction and addressing concerns.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Monitor grain inventory levels and optimize storage capacity.
  • Oversee the maintenance of equipment and infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Work with others in areas outside of their department and assist when needed.
  • Champion a culture where safety is non-negotiable, ensuring every task protects people, property, and community.
  • Consistently demonstrate trust, respect, and fairness in all decisions and interactions.
  • Act as a proud ambassador of the cooperative, representing its values in every member and community engagement.
