Under the supervision of the Supervisor, the Grain Etch Operator etches castings, dips castings into caustic baths, fills and assists in the cleaning of caustic units, and performs miscellaneous tasks. This role involves operating a hoist to immerse castings into acid and water baths, managing bath temperatures and electric currents, and handling caustic solutions. The operator is responsible for rinsing castings, stamping identification, maintaining solution strength, and reporting any product or process faults to the supervisor. Accurate time tracking in the labor control system is also required.
