About The Position

Bartlett is hiring a hands-on Grain Elevator Operator in Stella, Nebraska. Bartlett is an agribusiness specializing in grain acquisition, storage, transportation, processing, and merchandising, and is part of Savage. The role involves receiving, storing, handling, drying, blending, and loading grain, as well as monitoring stored grain and maintaining and cleaning facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment. Operators are cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks. The position pays $20 per hour and up. It is a first-shift role, usually 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some overtime, including weekends. The operator works with bulk commodities such as wheat, corn, and soybeans, using various grain-handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Reliable transportation.
For safety reasons, ability to read, write, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English.
Availability to work overtime and weekends.
Professional demeanor, including safety consciousness, quality job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communication.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Ability to work in tight and confined spaces and at heights.
Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.
Ability to ascend and descend ladders.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

Receive, store, handle, dry, blend, and load grain.
Monitor the condition of stored grain.
Maintain and clean grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment for team members.
Cross-train and perform a variety of tasks.
