As a Graduate Transportation Engineer, you will work with a licensed Professional Engineer focused on helping you grow your skills while delivering roadway design projects for state, county, and local clients. You will be involved in all aspects of transportation design and will work closely with mentors and peers invested in the growth and success of your career.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or related engineering field), or actively pursing degree
  • 0 - 4 years of experience in Civil Engineering
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel
  • Motivated to learn, take initiative, and contribute to high-quality project deliverables
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
  • Exposure to roadway design, traffic engineering, or transportation construction through internships, coursework, or professional experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Geometric Design - developing typical sections, alignments and profiles for roadways, bikeways, and pedestrian facilities.
  • Final Road Design - determining and detailing typical sections, superelevation, guardrail, and other roadway components.
  • Traffic Engineering - developing signing, pavement marking, and maintenance of traffic plans.
  • Plans - producing clear and complete plan sets for construction.
  • Cost Estimating - preparing quantities and researching historic unit prices to estimate construction costs.
  • Utilize design software such as Microstation/Geopak, OpenRoads Designer, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D to draft, model designs, and prepare plans.
  • Coordinate with project teams to support the successful delivery of transportation projects for state, county, and municipal clients.
