As a Graduate Traffic Engineer, you will have the ability to be a part of a cohesive Traffic Engineering team. Jump start your career by being exposed to a variety of transportation engineering experiences under the direction of a licensed and knowledgeable Professional Engineer. You will work with a variety of agencies including DOT’s, Counties, Cities and Developers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or related engineering field), or actively pursing degree
  • 0 - 4 years of experience in Traffic Engineering
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel
  • Motivated to learn, take initiative, and contribute to high-quality project deliverables
  • Excellent technical, written, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Synchro, SimTraffic and Vissim traffic analysis software
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation

Responsibilities

  • Support signal timing projects, including building, optimizing Synchro models and implementing signal timing plans
  • Developing regional travel demand for traffic forecasting and microscopic traffic simulation models for urban arterial and freeway traffic operations.
  • Conduct traffic capacity, traffic operations, and safety analysis for traffic impact studies (TIS), intersection control evaluations (ICE) and corridor studies
  • Supporting documentation, evaluation and design of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
  • Traffic design – plans, specifications, quantities and estimates for traffic signal, roadway lighting, roadway signing, and pavement markings
  • Developing maintenance of traffic plans to support roadway construction staging.
