Graduate Environmental Scientist, Environmental Engineer or Environmental Technologist Location: Cold Lake, Alberta Purpose of the Role At Worley Consulting, we help customers manage environmental liabilities and restore sites responsibly across the asset lifecycle. In this graduate role, you’ll support our LMR team by delivering field programs for remediation, decommissioning, and reclamation projects. This is a 100% field-based role focused on safe, accurate collection of defensible environmental data to support regulatory compliance and long-term outcomes. Based out of Worley’s Cold Lake, Alberta field office, willingness to self-relocate to Cold Lake is required.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution, along with relevant continuing education.
  • Foundational knowledge of environmental science principles and environmental fieldwork practices.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to collect and record accurate field data.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to balance multiple field tasks.
  • Ability to work independently in the field while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
  • Analytical thinking and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to self-relocate to the designated Worley office location in Cold Lake, Alberta.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship or entry-level experience with an environmental science or engineering consultancy is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out fieldwork across a range of environmental programs, including surface water and groundwater monitoring, soil sampling, drilling support, test pitting, remedial excavations, and reclamation activities.
  • Log and texture soils and operate environmental field equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Collect accurate, high-quality field data using standard operating procedures and best practices.
  • Support Senior Environmental Technologists, team leaders, and Project Managers with field coordination, scheduling, and procurement of project supplies.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation and field reports.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental protection in all activities.
  • Participate in job walks while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) in operating facilities and outdoor environments.
  • Walk extended distances over uneven terrain and work safely in varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
  • Travel as required to support field programs in the region.
