About The Position

The Department of Animal & Poultry Science is seeking applications for a Teaching Assistant for the 2026-2027 Regular session. Multiple positions are available with varying hours, up to 75 hours per term. The department offers a wide range of courses for which teaching assistants can apply, covering topics from introductory animal bioscience to specialized areas like dairy management and animal biotechnology.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a BSc degree or equivalent in Agriculture or a related field.
  • Must be a current graduate student in the Department of Animal and Poultry Science at the University of Saskatchewan.
  • Must be a member of the Graduate Students’ Association.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, delivering, and/or attending labs and lectures
  • Demonstrating
  • Marking
  • Student consultation
  • Invigilating
  • Holding office hours
  • Setting up experiments
  • Supervising field trips
  • Conferring with the supervisor in charge as required by the assignment
  • Reporting hours of work through the pay and time reporting service on PAWS unless the signed contract has specified the number of hours.
