About The Position

This position is available only to enrolled American University students. The Graduate Assistant (GA) contributes to planning, organizing, and implementing outreach and engagement programs focused on students and led by the student Eco-Reps program. The GA supports undergraduate program leaders, works with peers at other schools on cross-town education programs, and ensures program alignment with metrics goals. The position requires collaboration with students, staff, and campus partners, with occasional weekend and evening availability.

Requirements

  • Current American University Graduate Student
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Experience in student programming and/or leadership development
  • Sustainability knowledge
  • Flexible scheduling with an expected part-time commitment of up to 12 hours per week
  • Position requires collaboration with students, staff, and campus partners.
  • Occasional weekend and evening availability and some availability during regular business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with undergraduate leaders and sustainability staff to design and implement sustainability outreach and engagement efforts for all students.
  • Understand metrics and goals used to monitor outreach and design programs to meet metrics goals.
  • Establish marketing plans for events and programs.
  • Utilize, update, and create program guides to ensure easy communication, information sharing, and program duplication.
  • Manage logistical needs for all outreach.
