About The Position

This role involves a 4-week onboarding program focused on trading systems, options fundamentals, and low-latency engineering practices. The engineer will design, implement, and optimize low-latency C++ applications for trading strategies across various exchanges. Key responsibilities include collaborating with traders and quants, maintaining and improving existing trading tools, contributing to diagnostic assessments and data analysis, and working with proprietary quoting systems and options-pricing infrastructure. The role also includes a transition into production ownership with mentorship.

Requirements

  • In your final year of study toward a BA, BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in C++ (or a comparable systems language) and solid computer science fundamentals — data structures, algorithms, and concurrency
  • Comfortable working in a Linux environment
  • Strong debugging instincts and a bias toward measuring before optimizing

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with system-level programming is a plus
  • Experience using AI agents to automate tasks and workflows is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Complete a 4-week onboarding program covering trading systems, options fundamentals, and low-latency engineering practices
  • Design, implement, and optimize low-latency C++ applications used to execute trading strategies across CME, ICE, CBOE, and other exchanges
  • Collaborate closely with traders, quants, and other engineers to translate trading ideas into robust, production-ready systems
  • Maintain and improve existing trading tools and infrastructure, and help build new ones from scratch
  • Contribute to diagnostic assessments and data analysis to help the team prioritize the highest-impact work
  • Work hands-on with proprietary quoting systems, models, and options-pricing infrastructure
  • Gradually transition into production ownership with senior mentorship and ongoing support
