About The Position

City Science is seeking a Graduate Software Developer to join its full-stack development team and create applications and tools that support the company’s decarbonisation mission. The role involves developing digital products used to plan, monitor, evidence and visualise decarbonisation pathways, as well as supporting internal teams with automated and digitised insights. Developers work collaboratively with consultancy specialists across areas including transport, energy, sustainability, carbon accounting and applied data science. The role is remote within the UK, with flexible working arrangements and optional use of collaboration spaces in London, Bristol and Exeter. It is a permanent, full-time position at 40 hours per week, with a six-month probation period. Existing coding skills are not required, though they are desirable; candidates with self-taught skills are encouraged. City Science mainly uses JavaScript and Python, alongside other languages. Cloud-services experience is desirable, and experience using AI to support software development is welcome, while independent skills, motivation and communication are expected. The salary is £30,000–£40,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Applicants must already have their own right to work in the UK for more than two years; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
