About The Position
This listing is for the hiring of (1) one Graduate Research Fellow to support the Tulane Architecture and Asian Studies Fellow on research initiatives. Working closely with the Fellow, the Research Assistant will gain valuable interdisciplinary experience through both independent work and close collaboration. Research topics include, but are not limited to: global migration, vernacular housing, and urban policy in China, and Chinatowns around the world.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Rhino.
- Proficiency in Adobe CC.
- Proficiency in model-making.
- An interest in Chinese languages is essential.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Mandarin and/or Shanghainese is a plus.
- Previous working experience is not required.
Responsibilities
- In-person and Zoom meetings with the Fellow.
- Web and library information-gathering on the aforementioned topics.
- Model prototyping, building, and documentation.
- Developing composite drawings and diagrams (hand/digital/collage).
- Translation (depending on Chinese language proficiency).
