The Graduate Assistant for the Office of Advocacy & Education (OAE) is a professional graduate position structured as a split assignment, bridging survivor advocacy and basic needs access. This role contributes to initiatives advancing student safety, dignity, equity, and well-being at the University of Oklahoma. OU Advocates provides confidential support to students, staff, and faculty impacted by sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, stalking, and sexual harassment. The OU Food Pantry addresses basic needs insecurity by providing food and nutrition education. The GA will assist with outreach, programming, volunteer coordination, data tracking, and administrative support for both program areas, gaining applied experience in trauma-informed practice, crisis-informed communication, student support systems, and basic needs program administration. The role requires maturity, discretion, initiative, and a strong commitment to social justice and student development. The appointment includes a bi-weekly stipend and health insurance coverage, with an average of 20 hours per week during the academic year, potentially including nights and weekends.
