Graduate Research Assistant - Cancer Epidemiology (HPF)

About The Position

This is a temporary, part-time (50% FTE) Graduate Assistant position in Cancer Epidemiology, funded by the Hawaii Pacific Foundation. The position is for an 11-month term and requires the candidate to be enrolled as a student at the University of Hawaii Manoa campus. The role involves assisting the Principal Investigator (PI) with various research-related tasks, including writing research papers, maintaining records of human subjects, and supporting data analysis and interpretation.

Requirements

  • A classified University of Hawaii at Manoa graduate student (new or continuing)
  • Good academic standing (3.0 GPA or above)
  • Enrolled into a University of Hawaii at Manoa graduate program
  • Competent in general computer programs (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to safeguard confidential and sensitive material and information

Nice To Haves

  • Expressed interest in Cancer Epidemiology or Prevention
  • Working knowledge of SAS, R and other data analysis software
  • Knowledge of database management and program evaluation

Responsibilities

  • Assist Principal Investigator (PI) with writing research papers for journal submissions
  • Maintain records of human subjects in research studies
  • Provide support to PI with data analysis and interpretation
  • Perform other duties assigned

Benefits
