About The Position

This key position has primary responsibility for the direct recruitment of prospective students for graduate programs. The Graduate Programs Recruiter will develop relationships with students and other stakeholders through phone outreach, in person outreach, travel, recruiting events and overall enrollment coordination. They will partner with the academic programs to ensure that students receive timely and accurate response to their requests as well as develop outreach in anticipation of those needs. They will also lead all the planning for on-campus recruiting events and support the schools and colleges in running their individual programs.

Requirements

  • Typically a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four years of experience in managing/supporting recruitment programs at a university or college, or with corporate clients and adult learners.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of graduate admissions processes, requirements, policies, and their relationship to other academic and administrative offices.
  • Advanced experience working with admission CRM systems like Slate and Banner highly preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to represent LMU graduate programs.

  • Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information.
  • Ability to provide competent advice to prospective students, being sensitive to individual needs.

  • Prioritize, delegate and ensure completion of a variety of tasks with multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary liaison in the recruitment and outreach of prospective graduate students.
  • Maintain contact with them throughout the admission process through email, phone, text message, in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Collaborate with academic program partners to identify and expand prospect pool, develop recruitment strategy, and execute outreach campaigns to meet set program goals.
  • Develop and manage prospect relationships to ensure that communication of program features and benefits are customized by prospect.
  • Consistently communicate the value of LMU and how it can meet the needs of the prospects, applicants, and admitted students.
  • Individually advise prospective graduate students on program selection, fit and admissibility.
  • Represent LMU graduate programs at college, corporate, and other recruiting programs and events, including (but not limited to) organizing information sessions, open houses, class visits, workshops, and networking receptions.
  • Partner with the schools/colleges to ensure we have appropriate communications and identify, organize and host effective on campus programming, a campus visit program and other activities in support of enrollment.
  • Collaborate with the AVP of Graduate Enrollment and MarCom representative to ensure we have strong and effective marketing materials both digital and print.
  • Collaborate with academic program partners, graduate enrollment management staff and other university administrators to ensure the smooth transition of students from admission to matriculation, including participation in orientation.
  • Work with the Financial Aid and Student Financial Services Office to understand and explain financial aid and payment processes to applicants.
  • Perform data analysis of graduate recruitment events to inform overall graduate outreach and recruitment strategies.
  • Generate reports to track weekly graduate enrollment statistics, as well as create ad hoc queries using CRM.
  • Perform market analysis by monitoring and assessing competitiveness of LMU’s graduate programs, analyzing admissions feedback from prospective students, and assessing effectiveness of communication strategies.
  • Be an advocate for identification and approval of programs, events and collateral important to successful recruitment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested by Assistant Vice Provost of Graduate Enrollment.
