About The Position

Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Graduate Programs & Strategic Partnerships, the Associate Director of Graduate Programs will direct recruitment and outreach activities for the College of Science and Engineering’s graduate programs (both degree- and non-degree). Under limited supervision, this position will expand marketing and recruitment efforts to diversify and strategically grow Seaver College’s graduate student population in alignment with the college’s strategic plan.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree in Science and Engineering or counseling extremely helpful.
  • Minimum three years' experience in an academic program office.
  • Experience in graduate or undergraduate admissions at a not-for-profit university strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of: recruiting, marketing, social media, higher education curriculum, course sequences and requirements, course offerings, admissions requirements, graduation requirements, university resources and facilities.
  • Familiarity with academic processes and procedures, Registrar office, and Financial Aid office.
  • Ability to multi-task, plan, organize and execute day-to-day operation; work under deadlines and maintain a detail-oriented approach to each task; ability to prioritize and delegate the flow of work on a daily basis; ability to write and edit, prepare memos and minutes, type reports and other documents efficiently.
  • Highly developed organizational and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access), Adobe suits and other campus databases.
  • Maintain highly effective working relationships with key faculty, academic personnel, Events Scheduling Office, Catering Services, Campus Graphics, Bookstore, and all off-campus vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and effective recruitment strategy resulting in achievement of enrollment targets for all graduate and certificate programs in the College of Science and Engineering.
  • Serve as the primary recruiter.
  • Manage all aspects of on-campus recruiting events such as information sessions/webinars and graduate fairs and Graduate Open House in coordination with LMU partner offices, including Graduate Admissions and Career and Professional Development.
  • Responsible for off-campus recruiting events (local corporate education fairs, and out-of-the-area graduate student recruiting forums) to ensure that the LMU SCSE Graduate Programs are represented at as many appropriate events as possible to generate a large applicant pool.
  • Develop on-going assessment to ensure recruitment activities are effective in attracting prospective and targeted applicants to the LMU SCSE Graduate Programs.
  • Establish, maintain and leverage local industry connections for program promotion; Represent LMU within the science and engineering community and at professional organizations or associations.
  • Manage existing LMU databases effectively to improve the recruitment process to generate a larger applicant pool.
  • Analyze effectiveness and implement/program/create additional forms, queries and reports to improve.
  • Collaborate with LMU Enrollment Management and LMU Marketing & Communications to implement a marketing plan to increase program awareness and drive enrollment.
  • Manage promotional activities/strategies such as social media campaigns and creation of physical promotional materials.
  • May be responsible for managing the databases used in the recruiting process as well as the databases used for academic records for enrolled students.
  • Analyze data to assess the effectiveness of active strategies and analyze other tools and products for implementation.
  • Support the admissions process by managing prospect data and communicating with prospective students to ensure a positive and seamless experience.
  • Collaborate with department chairs and associate deans for the improvement and advancement of all Seaver graduate programs.
  • Support Associate Dean with program assessments.
  • Work with academic budget team and the Associate Dean to develop appropriate graduate budget for Seaver graduate programs.
  • May supervise graduate assistants and work study students who interact with prospects and applicants.
  • Attend events such as Graduate New Student Orientation, Graduate Open House, Graduate Fairs, Graduate Research Symposium and the Graduate Awards Celebration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Benefits

  • Salary range $78,600.00 - $102,200.00
  • Salary commensurate with education and experience.
