Graduate Nurse Neuro ICU, Allegheny General
About The Position
The Graduate Nurse in the Neuro ICU at Allegheny General Hospital is responsible and accountable for a designated patient population, providing care through the nursing process. The specialized 22-bed unit cares for critically ill patients with complex neurological conditions, including aneurysms, brain tumors, head bleeds, strokes, Level I acute strokes, and brain cases of unknown origin. The role includes providing safe and effective care to the age population served, coordinating patient care with team members and the multidisciplinary team, and educating patients and families.
Requirements
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Current Pennsylvania RN licensure or current multistate licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate clinical assessment and care-planning skills.
- Provide safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
- Professionally direct and manage patient-care delivery activities by team members.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on the plan of care from admission through discharge.
- Assess the learning needs of patients and families and provide education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
