About The Position

Baptist Health Princeton Hospital is seeking a Full Time Graduate Nurse for the Surgical ICU, working nights. This role involves providing patient-centered care, demonstrating age-appropriate competency, and functioning as a team leader and collaborator. The nurse will also serve as a professional role model, maintain accurate documentation, engage in continuous learning and development, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and ensure operational excellence.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health and unit/department.
• Maintains current State of Alabama RN license
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs, develops and revises individualized care plans, monitors progress, prioritizes care, and serves as a patient and family advocate.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills for age-specific care, including growth and development principles, unit-specific procedures, and equipment use.
• Functions as preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, or clinician; coordinates care, delegates appropriately, and communicates with interdisciplinary teams.
• Supports hospital and nursing goals, practices compassionate care, maintains legal and ethical standards, and fosters respectful relationships.
• Maintains accurate, consistent patient records meeting regulatory standards and adheres to hospital policies, attendance, and safety guidelines.
• Engages in professional development, attends trainings, mentors staff and students, and partners with leadership to identify growth needs.
• Participates in committees, peer review, performance improvement initiatives, and applies evidence-based practice to resolve issues effectively.
• Ensures efficient use of supplies, maintains a clean and organized work area, and performs all other duties as assigned.
