About The Position

Capstone Copper is hiring a Graduate Mine Engineer for a rotational program at Pinto Valley, an open-pit copper mine in central Arizona. The program provides structured rotations through Mine Operations, Mine Engineering, Geology, and Geotechnical functions, each lasting approximately 4–6 months. Participants develop increasing responsibility and gain experience understanding how mine plans are safely and practically executed. The role combines office and field work. Time in Mine Operations and Geotechnical is expected to involve significant field exposure, while Mine Engineering and Geology may include more office-based technical work. The Graduate Engineer will interact regularly with active mining areas, participate in field inspections and operational meetings, and support technical planning activities. Candidates must complete a pre-employment medical exam, drug and alcohol test, and background check. A pre-placement physical examination is required to assess fitness for duty; additional training or testing may be required. Capstone maintains a drug- and alcohol-free workplace.
