About The Position

Gardner-Webb University invites applications for the Graduate Intern for Compliance position within the department of Athletics. The Graduate Intern for Compliance will develop an understanding of NCAA Division I legislation, Big South Conference and Gardner-Webb University policies and procedures as they pertain to the GWU Athletic Department. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a focus on customer service. The position is designed to provide the candidate with hands-on experience working with NCAA Bylaws and processes in an environment that is conducive to immersion in the day-to-day workings of a Division I compliance office.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree
Acceptance into a GWU Graduate program

Nice To Haves

College athletics experience preferred

Responsibilities

Maintain 40 office hours per week (evening and weekend responsibilities required).
Attend NCAA compliance rules education sessions and present on topics as requested.
Research NCAA information regarding interpretations and file documents accordingly.
Compliance Software maintenance (i.e., student-athlete forms, coaching activities, coding, ARMs maintenance).
Facilitate pass gate, which will require availability for all home football and men’s and women's basketball games.
Assist in the creation of content for social media and other projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Assist the Assistant Athletics Director with daily NCAA compliance tasks, functions, and systems maintenance.
Coordinate and provide support with NCAA, Conference and College reporting requirements.
Assist with all processes related to Recruiting, Financial Aid, NCAA Eligibility Certification, Academics, Playing and Practice Seasons, Recruiting, Name Image Likeness, Roster Management, Transfers, Awards/Benefits, etc.
Work closely with various College offices such as Enrollment Management, Financial Planning, Registrar, Institutional Technology, etc.
Assist with all institutional, conference and NCAA data entry and reporting.
