2027 Graduate Engineering Program

Doncasters Group•Long Beach, CA

About The Position

Doncasters is hiring recent engineering graduates and candidates completing an engineering degree by Summer 2027 for its structured 12–24 month Graduate Development Program. Based in Groton, Connecticut; Oxford, Alabama; or Long Beach, California, the program offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, technical development, mentorship, and cross-functional and cross-site exposure. Participants will learn from experienced professionals and contribute to manufacturing projects, building skills and confidence for an engineering career. The schedule is 40 hours per week. Salary varies by geographical location and specialty. The program includes opportunities in several early-career engineering roles. Graduate Product / Process Engineers support aerospace investment casting operations through process monitoring and control, process ownership, production support and maintenance, tooling support, process-method definition and execution, and yield improvement. They develop understanding of products and manufacturing processes, including upstream and downstream impacts, and progress toward taking ownership of assigned processes. Graduate Ceramics Engineers support the use and control of ceramic materials and components in aerospace investment casting. The work includes developing and controlling ceramic molds; managing slurry chemistry; optimizing robotic dipping, draining, and stucco application; controlling drying-environment thermodynamics; and investigating process variables that affect mold integrity, performance, and alloy compatibility. The role also involves troubleshooting, root-cause investigations, and continuous improvement. Graduate Metallurgists support aerospace investment casting through metallurgical laboratory work, material testing, and validation. Duties include preparing samples by cutting, mounting, etching, and polishing; conducting and documenting metallographic examinations; coordinating external material testing; reviewing reports; and checking material certifications against applicable specifications. The role also contributes to troubleshooting, root-cause investigations, and continuous improvement. Graduates initially work alongside experienced mentors or subject matter experts and develop toward independent performance.
