About The Position

Skanska is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer for their 2027 Development Programme in Peterborough. This two-year program offers hands-on experience, structured learning, and mentorship to develop technical and interpersonal skills. The role is within the Infrastructure operating unit, supporting the water industry team with Anglian Water. Responsibilities include delivering electrical systems for treatment plants, pumping stations, control systems, and smart water networks across East Anglia.

Requirements

  • Final-year student or recent graduate in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (BEng or MEng)
  • An interest in sustainability, utilities, and infrastructure
  • Strong interest in innovation, sustainability, and positive societal impact, demonstrated through collaborative teamwork and proactive problem-solving
  • Enthusiastic learner dedicated to personal and professional development
  • Driving licence or work towards obtaining one within the first year of employment

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and delivery of electrical systems including power distribution, automation, and instrumentation
  • Assist with the specification and selection of electrical equipment
  • Work closely with civil, mechanical, and process engineering teams
  • Carry out site surveys, commissioning, and technical inspections
  • Support with documentation, reports, and health & safety compliance
  • Engage with contractors, clients (e.g. Anglian Water), and supply chain partners throughout project lifecycles
