About The Position

The Physician Assistant Studies Program manages many student clinical experiences as all students complete nine clinical rotations throughout the United States. A Graduate Assistant position is available to support the clinical education team. The GA will report to Chatham’s Eastside location with remote work as needed. This graduate assistant will serve as a point of contact for preceptors and students of Chatham's Physician Assistant program. The assistant will help with coordination of placements for PA students including integration of student and clinical placement data in the various platforms used by the program. This graduate assistant will be selected from the pool of incoming MBA students.

Requirements

  • Incoming MBA students
  • Registered a minimum of 6 credits per semester (preferably full time)
  • Notify all parties involved – B&E Dept. rep (TBD) and the Associate Director of Clinical Education of PA Program, at least by mid-semester if planning to leave at the end of the semester
  • Notify other manager(s) if working multiple jobs on campus at the same time
  • Students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year.
  • Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry in EXXAT/PRISM clinical management system
  • Research preceptor licensing and board certification information online, document, and track
  • Print received faxes including student documents and checking documents for required information.
  • Scan various project documents, save, and track as necessary.
  • Prepare mailings to be sent to clinical sites.
  • Set up incoming student folders and file student documents throughout the year.
  • Assist the clinical assistant in tracking submitted student clinical requirements.
  • Maintain timely communication with students, preceptors, and clinical faculty and staff.
  • Maintain Brightspace course site documents and assignments.
  • Enter data into various Excel spreadsheets accurately.
  • Assist the clinical team with the implementation and management of rotations at affiliated clinical sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work closely with Clinical Program Assistant, Bette Weger.
  • Report to the Associate Director of Clinical Education, Brenda Ealey.
