About The Position

The department graduate assistant will report to the department chair to assist with tasks related to marketing, promoting, and utilizing the Brown Collection (a book collection) housed in the Chatham Library. All current student employees should notify their other manager(s) if you work multiple jobs on campus at the same time. Additionally, students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year. Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year. Student jobs do not automatically roll over to the next academic year or summer.

Responsibilities

  • Planning events to showcase the collection
  • Curating book displays
  • Writing press releases and creating social media content related to the collection
  • Coordinating with undergraduate student interns
  • Developing initiatives to utilize books from the collection in curriculum and student research
