About The Position

The Women's Soccer Graduate Assistant is responsible for assisting the Head Coach, primarily with recruiting, organizing and running practices, fundraising, promotional activities, and other related assigned responsibilities. A successful candidate will be a positive role model to our student-athletes on and off the court, exhibit strong leadership, and strive to develop those leadership capabilities within our student-athletes. Responsibilities also include: Monitoring and assisting student-athletes with academic success Effectively recruiting quality student-athletes Assisting the head coach with any/all aspects of the program. Beyond valuable work experience, Graduate Assistants at Lakeland University receive 100% tuition to any graduate program at Lakeland, a competitive stipend, a meal plan, and reduced housing expenses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and acceptance into the Lakeland University graduate school program
  • Experience coaching soccer
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations governing recruitment, eligibility and related functions
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to effectively manage time and priorities
  • Ability to prioritize office workflow and make effective administrative decisions to increase efficiency, accuracy, and productivity
  • Demonstrated ability to tactfully and effectively communicate (written and verbal) with a variety of individuals
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) or similar products
  • Demonstrates organizational ability, and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to work evenings or weekends as needed
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term.
