About The Position

Western Colorado University invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach. The position reports to Head Women’s Soccer Coach, works closely with Faculty, Staff, and Student-Athletes, and is responsible for assisting with the responsibilities of an NCAA DII Women’s Soccer Program. This job is on-campus/in-person.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • General knowledge of NCAA Division II soccer practices & regulations
  • Ability to establish good rapport and relationships with players, administrators, staff, alumni and the general public
  • Soccer playing experience
  • Soccer coaching experience
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certified
  • Valid driver’s license
  • United Soccer Coaches 11v11
  • United States Soccer Federation Grassroots

Responsibilities

  • Recruit student-athletes while meeting University policy and NCAA Division II regulations.
  • Assures that student-athletes are eligible to participate in athletics according to university and NCAA Division II regulations.
  • Assists Head Coach with organizing and conducting practices and conditioning sessions.
  • Assists with the coordination of the distribution, collection, and storage of athletic equipment, gear and supplies and the collection of fees for lost equipment and gear by student-athletes.
  • Demonstrates concern for the academic, physical and emotional well-being of each team member by actively encouraging and supporting the academic success of team members.
  • Actively encourages and supports the psychological and emotional well-being of team members, provides appropriate mentoring and life guidance, and seeks professional assistance when circumstances warrant.
  • Adheres to budget, one card, cash handling policies and guidelines established by the University and Foundation.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of, and compliance with, Western Colorado University, NCAA Division II, RMAC and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Completes NCAA and federally mandated initial and ongoing Title IX training, fulfills Title IX reporting expectations and ensures participation of team athletes in all Title IX and Sexual Assault mandatory trainings.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with administrative staff, coaches, student-athletes and other University staff.
  • Actively participates in Athletic Department functions, meetings, and in university committees as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
