About The Position

Tutoring position for Dr. Joanne Smith and Dr. Jimmy Phan for PT 546/PT 546L. Tutors are expected to assist tutees with study strategies and approaches to learning and test taking, not just reiterate course content. Tutors should work toward facilitating tutees’ understanding of key concepts, relationships, and clinical application, if appropriate. Tutors are encouraged to work with tutees’ learning styles and to assist with critical thinking, problem-solving, and clinical reasoning, to the degree possible. Tutees must abide by the applicable university student employment policies.

• Able to handle responsibilities independently and effectively
• Possess undergraduate degree in similar and/or related field

Responsibilities

• Schedule and provide tutoring sessions
• Notify tutees of availability well in advance
• Assist tutees with study strategies and approaches to learning and test taking
• Facilitate tutees’ understanding of key concepts, relationships, and clinical application
• Work with tutees’ learning styles
• Assist with critical thinking, problem-solving, and clinical reasoning
