About The Position

The Graduate Assistant Coach assists with the day-to-day management of the athletic team, which requires some night and weekend work. Candidates for the Graduate Assistant Coach should possess a commitment to Christian higher education, utilize servant leadership style of leadership.

Must be accepted and enrolled in an Ottawa University graduate program

Submission of official undergraduate transcripts (3.0 GPA – minimum requirement) earned bachelor’s degree
Submission of a personal statement regarding career goals and three professional references
Other items as identified by the specific academic program
Completed employment application
Cover letter and resume
Eligible to work in the United States and present the proper documentation to the Human Resources Department prior to beginning their graduate assistantship

Responsibilities

Recruit, train and coach members of the athletic program
Recruit, retain and graduate student-athletes who contribute to the success of the program and vibrancy of campus life
Fund and friend raising for the advancement of the program
Provide oversight of student-athletes academic progress toward degree completion
Assist with any and all administrative duties as assigned
Insure adherence to the NAIA and rules and regulations including the NAIA Champions of Character 5 core values
Provide leadership for campus involvement and community service
Provide Christ-centered leadership and direction for the program
Other duties as assigned
