About The Position

The Stetson-Hatcher School of Business at Mercer University is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Assistant to support the Director of Operations and the Executive Assistant to the Dean. This position offers a unique opportunity for hands-on experience in the operational management of a leading academic institution. The Graduate Assistant will assist with administrative tasks, event coordination, data management, and special projects aimed at improving the operational efficiency and strategic initiatives within the School of Business.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program at Mercer University (preferably in Business, Management, or a related field).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software and tools quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Must be in the SHSB MBA in-person program. Potentially online.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior administrative or operations experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily administrative support to the Director of Operations and Executive Assistant to the Dean, including scheduling, communications, and general office management.
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing events, meetings, and workshops for the School of Business.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for strategic initiatives and operational processes.
  • Prepare documents, presentations, and reports for internal and external use.
  • Manage filing systems, databases, and correspondence tracking, ensuring smooth information flow.
  • Collaborate across departments to assist with cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Manage special projects assigned by the Director of Operations and Executive Assistant to the Dean, contributing to continuous process improvement.
  • Serve as a point of contact for both internal and external communications, responding promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with creation and sustainment of student and faculty Mentor List.
