About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the men’s and women’s golf programs with the recruitment and retention of student-athletes while working to ensure the best student experience possible for the members of the Benedictine University Golf Programs. Will also assist with home athletic events during the winter and spring months.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Experience within a collegiate athletic environment preferred, at the NCAA Division III level desired.
  • Applicant must be accepted into the Benedictine University graduate program and remain in good standing with the University.
  • Organizational skills, writing and typing skills, interpersonal skills, data entry and budget management skills and demonstrated supervisory skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required and CPR/First Aid/ AED certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the golf program with the identification and successful recruitment of qualified student athletes to help place the program in a position of competitive leadership in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
  • Responsible for coaching and mentoring student-athletes as well as assisting with coaching in all traditional and non-traditional segments that will place the program in a position of competitive leadership in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
  • Responsible for assisting the head coach, program, and university personnel with the retention of student athletes. This includes social and academic support, meeting regularly with the members of your assigned position group to monitor their academic progress to ensure players are investing the time and effort required to be successful in the classroom.
  • Assist in working with Sports Information/ Game Day staff on home winter and spring athletic events.
  • Develop relationships within Benedictine University and the University community.
  • Attend departmental and University related meetings and events.
  • Maintain a positive student athlete assessment for program from student athletes.
  • Work in coordination with University offices and departments to coordinate and facilitate University events.
  • Maintain positive relationships with alumni, parents, students, officials, volunteers and fans.
  • Serve on University, conference and national committees as needed.
  • Positively promote Benedictine University and the Department of Athletics on campus and in the community.
