About The Position

This position will work with the Women's Basketball program. Under the supervision of the Head Coach, Women's Basketball the position will help support all aspects of the program including travel, recruiting, administration, and coaching/mentoring. The selected applicant will receive a tuition waiver for up to 18 graduate credits for the 2025-2026 academic calendar year (August 1, 2025 - May 31, 2026). The applicant will be responsible for the costs of any fees and books associated with the program. Campus housing may be offered if space is available. This position may be renewed for the next academic year, conditional upon satisfactory performance, availability of funds, adherence to employment protocols and remaining in good academic standing. The selected person will be required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during the term of appointment. The individual selected for the position may also be expected to cover a minimum of 5 hours of responsibilities assigned in event operations, facility management, and any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Admission into a post graduate program at Daemen University is required.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency.
  • Working knowledge of NCAA Division II rules.
  • Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience.
  • Demonstrated successful experience recruiting collegiate student-athletes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work both traditional and non-traditional business hours.
  • Proficient in the use and maintenance of various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the head coach in the day-to-day operations of the women's basketball team
  • Recruit on and off campus and be involved in on-campus visits.
  • Responsible for the organization of team meals during team travel and winter break.
  • Assist the head coach in scouting opponents. This position requires the ability to break down and evaluate film.
  • Assist with game management of other areas as assigned and supervise study halls.
  • Assist with fundraising efforts and represent the athletic department at various functions.
  • Assist with conditioning of athletes and summer and winter camp operations.
  • Greet and assist opponents who use our gym for practices.
