About The Position

This role supports mental health programs and initiatives developed through the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC), with a focus on improving the quality and accessibility of mental health care for children and adolescents across Texas. The University of Texas Dell Medical School is a Health Related Institution (HRI) for the TCMHCC. The Graduate Assistant will provide data support for programs like Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT), Perinatal Psychiatry Access Network (PeriPAN) and Child Psychiatry Access Network (CPAN), Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM), and other related mental health programs. TCHATT provides telemedicine or telehealth programs to school districts to help identify and assess the behavioral health needs of children and adolescents and provide access to mental health services. CPAN and PeriPAN provide primary care clinic providers and OBGYNs prompt access to on-call psychiatrists to provide expertise in assessment, treatment, and referrals for pediatric and/or perinatal patients identified as having a mental health challenge. YAM is a school-based program for students in eighth through 12th grades to learn about and explore the topic of mental health. This position has a start date of 8/16/26 and an end date of 12/31/26. There may be the opportunity to renew this position based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward goals. Funding is expected to continue. The Graduate Assistant will assist with maintenance of recurring data reports and support the fulfillment of ad hoc data requests as assigned.

Requirements

  • A degree-seeking graduate student enrolled in sufficient credits at the University of Texas, Austin
  • Maintain student eligibility to work ( 9 credit hours in fall/spring semesters, 3 credit hours in summer semester )
  • Ability to maintain a regular and consistent schedule.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain recurring data reports; follow Process Documentation to update weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports with data using exports from EMRs (e.g. Athena) and additional data sources (e.g. Trayt, Welnity)
  • Support the fulfillment of ad hoc data requests; export data from data sources, conduct data validation processes, conduct user testing, and provide additional support to prepare deliverables as assigned
  • Provide ongoing support to Data Management Technician on CPAN/PeriPAN data reporting; provide ongoing support to Data Analyst on TCHATT data reporting
  • Work alongside Data Analyst and Data Management Technician to complete REDCap reporting and provide program staff with REDCap technical support as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
