About The Position

The Graduate Affairs and Practicum Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Assistant Director of Graduate Affairs, and the MPH Sr. Academic Advisor in administrative and student financial functions, and working closely with the Community Engagement Manager on administration and management of practicum sites, contracts, and site relationships for graduate students. This individual will work with a team to support graduate admissions, award letters, ensure students have submitted all necessary documents for exceptions, graduation, enrollment, withdrawals, and other degree related documents. In addition, this role will collaborate with the compensation analyst to ensure all fellowships, academic student appointments and awards are processed. Event and end of year celebrations, commencement, and awards ceremony support and participation is required of this role. The Grad Affairs and Practicum Coordinator will collaborate with the Community Engagement Manager to develop new practicum sites and maintain existing ones, where students to complete their required degree practicum hours with selected locations. This will require frequent communication with the sites to ensure agreements are signed with the school, and the students, and that the students are submitting necessary documents as they relate to their preceptors, and faculty advisors. Ad-hoc duties related to graduate affairs will be assigned.

Requirements

  • Experienced knowledge of specific learning theory, learning styles, affective issues, academic issues, and socio-cultural / linguistic issues in applying academic support to students.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of academic curricula.
  • Knowledge in designing and implementing learning and pedagogical models.
  • Knowledge of strategies in critical thinking, reading, writing, note taking, test taking, time management, and goal setting.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Skills in judgment and decision-making.
  • Problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of current research and theoretical models that influence the application and delivery of academic services (e.g., discipline specific, student-population specific).
  • Multicultural competencies, knowledge and experience working and interacting effectively with diverse groups of staff, faculty, and student populations.
  • Knowledge of program development, data gathering, assessment, and evaluation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 5-7 years of experience
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization
