Requirements

2 + years experience working with earth moving equipment, i.e. dozer, backhoe, etc.
Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards
Ability to maintain, inspect, clean, and occasionally repair heavy equipment
A strong work ethic; Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required
Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds and at times, as much as 90 pounds, as may be assigned
Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment and the movement of mobile equipment
Reliable transportation to and from the Conover Office or Jobsite
GPS experience
A valid driver's license

Responsibilities

Safely operate various pieces of equipment to achieve precise location and grading as outlined in the plans.
Deliver high-quality finished products on Highway Projects.
Adapt and perform other duties as directed by the grading foreman.
Maintain, inspect, clean, and occasionally repair heavy equipment.
Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment and the movement of mobile equipment.
