The mission of The Vanguard School is to help guide students in development of their character and academic potential through academically rigorous, content-rich educational programs. The Upper Elementary Content Instructor (Math) is responsible for planning and implementing math lessons, teaching up to four math classes daily, providing feedback on assignments, maintaining an electronic gradebook, managing classroom climate, delivering effective instruction to promote achievement, meeting professional responsibilities, modeling and supporting virtuous character development in students, supporting the school's mission through fidelity to policies and practices, creating a positive culture of inquiry and learning, communicating proactively and professionally with parents, and implementing accommodations and modifications for students on plans. Additionally, the role involves monitoring carlines and recesses or lunch periods. The instructor will also serve as a resource for staff, administrators, and parents regarding student support and positive school climate, and develop positive working relationships with students, staff, and families, modeling the school's values and professional behavior.
