About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring only quality product remains on the line and meets customer specifications. The role involves visually grading product, removing defective items, and potentially rotating to other positions on the line. Teamwork, adherence to operating systems, and performing other duties as necessary are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

Ability to lift up to 10 lbs as required by specific product grade lines.
Must be able to wear hearing protection, protective eyewear, smock, apron, gloves, hair net/beard net, slip-resistant footwear and other protective equipment as needed or required.

Responsibilities

Visually grades product being dropped onto the line and ensures that only quality product that meets customer requirements such as quality, weight or count remains on the line.
Removes defective product off the line and places it into identified defect groups.
Completes and passes a customer specification test before becoming qualified.
May rotate to other positions on the line as needed.
Participates as a member of the Team, fostering strong cohesiveness and supporting team concepts, programs, and policies.
Attends appropriate team meetings.
Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues.
Reinforces actions needed to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems.
Considers the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
