About The Position

This position is responsible for sorting apparel, ensuring quality, and meeting production goals. The Grader/Sorter will stay updated on brand names, styles, and pricing for soft goods. They will sort apparel into different categories, prepare salable items for the sales floor, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. This role also involves adhering to company policies, safety procedures, and assisting with other tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of brand names, designer labels, current and vintage styles, and price points for soft line goods.
  • Ability to sort apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories.
  • Ability to tag and/or size apparel.
  • Ability to hang apparel onto racks and transport racks.
  • Ability to check for tears, stains, wet, smelly, soiled, broken zippers, and missing buttons.
  • Ability to recognize apparel brand names, pricing, and grade quality.
  • Ability to achieve and exceed production goals (4) Dandux/Tallboys each day.
  • Ability to maintain a neat and clean sorting and processing area.
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of good safety and security practices.
  • Ability to report safety hazards and injuries.
  • Ability to review and utilize Consumer Product Safety Commission recall bulletins.
  • Ability to handle equipment and follow safety procedures (push, not pull, never overfill equipment).
  • Ability to perform assigned duties within the framework of Guiding Principles.

  • Assists with floor running, apparel rotation, cleaning dressing rooms as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Stays abreast of brand names, designer labels, current and vintage styles, and price points for soft line goods.
  • Sorts apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories.
  • Tags and/or sizes apparel, hangs apparel onto racks, and transports racks of hung apparel to the sales floor.
  • Provides quality assurance by checking for tears, stains, wet, smelly, soiled, broken zippers, and missing buttons.
  • Recognizes apparel brand names, is knowledgeable on pricing, and grades the quality of apparel.
  • Achieves and exceeds the MGI production goals of (4) Dandux/Tallboys each day.
  • Maintains sorting and processing area in a neat and clean condition at all times.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures; follows good safety and security practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries to the Team Leader Coach or ATL.
  • Reviews and utilizes current Consumer Product Safety Commission recall bulletins to prevent unsafe items from being sold in the store.
  • Handles equipment and follows safety procedures when moving equipment: push, not pull and never overfill equipment.
  • May assist with floor running, apparel rotation, and cleaning dressing rooms as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Team Leader Coach.
  • Attends in-service related training as assigned by Team Leader Coach.
