About The Position

This is a term position for a Grade P/1 Teacher at the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education, with an effective date of February 1st, 2027, to July 31st, 2027. The terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Nova Scotia Teachers' Provincial Agreement. The posting closes at midnight on June 24th, 2026. The Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education will conduct teacher interviews commencing on July 2nd for the Open Vacancy hiring round. Interview teams will contact shortlisted applicants between June 18th and July 3rd to make interview appointments, and applicants must be available to take these phone calls. Interviews will be held at Horton High School, 75 Greenwich Road S., Wolfville, from July 2nd-3rd. Successful applicants will be contacted between July 2nd – July 3rd, and all shortlisted applicants will be contacted regardless of interview outcome. Applicants are responsible for providing 3 professional/supervisory, work-related references, their email addresses, and phone numbers in their SuccessFactors application. References must be able to speak to an applicant’s teaching abilities, and AVRCE will require referees to provide reference checks prior to noon on June 26th. Responsibilities

  • Provide quality instruction within the framework established by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
  • Implement strategies, activities, and techniques for promoting student learning based on each student’s prior knowledge, skills, and learning needs
  • Demonstrate best practices in assessment to determine next steps
  • Attend and actively engage in meetings and ongoing professional development
  • Maintain and submit all records in online systems and other communication avenues
