Extra Duty: Grade 5 Volleyball
About The Position
This is an extra duty position for a Grade 5 Volleyball coach at West Terrace Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. The primary function is to develop and implement an exemplary athletic program that provides the highest quality education and growth opportunities for every student athlete. The role involves ensuring compliance with school policies, working cooperatively with staff, relating positively to parents and community, demonstrating professional growth, completing records and reports accurately, demonstrating proficiency in English, accepting responsibilities beyond the team setting, assuming responsibility for care of materials, equipment, and facilities, and ensuring a clean, orderly, and safe environment. Instructional responsibilities include fostering positive interactions among student-athletes, building supportive relationships with the school and community, demonstrating enthusiasm for coaching and learning, promoting self-direction and self-motivation in students, and creating clearly defined standards of behavior and academic performance. Subject matter responsibilities include exhibiting comprehensive knowledge of volleyball, adapting instruction to individual needs, and planning and organizing an athletic program with long-term planning. Techniques and delivery involve clearly conveying fundamental coaching expectations, utilizing appropriate and varied coaching techniques, and maintaining an effective system for monitoring student progress.

- Prior coaching experience preferred.

- Clearly convey fundamental coaching expectations to student athletes and explain their significance for personal, athletic, and academic growth.
- Utilize appropriate and varied coaching techniques and learning activities.
- Maintain an effective system of monitoring student progress and to inform appropriate persons.
