DRS - Grade 4/5 with DPA
About The Position
This posting is for a Grade 4/5 teaching position with DPA (Dedicated Planning Time) at the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education (AVRCE). The position is currently unfilled. Priority for applications will be given in the following order: First to Permanent, Assumed Permanent, and Surplus Teachers of the AVRCE. Second to Term Recall Round One Teachers of the AVRCE. Third to Term Recall Round Two Teachers of the AVRCE. Fourth to External Applicants. Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Nova Scotia Teachers' Provincial Agreement. The posting closes at midnight on June 24th, 2026.
Requirements
- Must be a teacher eligible for employment within the AVRCE, with priority given to permanent, assumed permanent, surplus, and term recall teachers before external applicants.
- Must be available to take phone calls for interview scheduling between June 18 and July 3.
- Must provide 3 professional/supervisory, work-related references, their email addresses, and phone numbers in the SuccessFactors application.
- References must be able to speak to an applicant’s teaching abilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality instruction within the framework established by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
- Implement strategies, activities, and techniques for promoting student learning based on each student’s prior knowledge, skills, and learning needs
- Demonstrate best practices in assessment to determine next steps
- Attend and actively engage in meetings and ongoing professional development
- Maintain and submit all records in online systems and other communication avenues
