About The Position

This is a substitute teaching position that will become a 100% term effective October 22nd, 2026 - July 31st, 2027. Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Nova Teachers' Provincial Agreement. The posting closes at midnight on June 24th, 2026.

Requirements

• Provide 3 professional/supervisory, work-related references, their email addresses and their phone numbers in your SuccessFactors application.
• References must be able to speak to an applicant’s teaching abilities.
• AVRCE will require referees to provide reference checks prior to noon on June 26th.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction within the framework established by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
• Implement strategies, activities, and techniques for promoting student learning based on each student’s prior knowledge, skills, and learning needs
• Demonstrate best practices in assessment to determine next steps
• Attend and actively engage in meetings and ongoing professional development
• Maintain and submit all records in online systems and other communication avenues
