About The Position
Lakeview Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Grade 2 Teacher to join their team. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting student learning, flexible, and an energetic team player. This role involves fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for Grade 2 students, utilizing evidence-based literacy and numeracy instruction, and collaborating effectively with colleagues. The teacher will use assessment data to guide instruction and monitor student progress, and possess strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills. The expected start date is August 25, 2026. This is a 1.00 FTE Probationary position.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based literacy and numeracy instruction
- Possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Sound understanding of teaching context and contributing variables
- Deep understanding of subject disciplines taught and pedagogical approaches based on best practice
- Understanding of planning, assessment and instructional practices
- Understanding of classroom management strategies that contribute to a positive learning environment
- Ability to use technology in meaningful ways for teaching and learning
- Qualities of a reflective practitioner
- Commitment to the school community with respect to professional relationships
- Belief in collaborative practice and teamwork
- Strong communication skills
