About The Position

St. John school is a fully accredited PreK-Grade 8 school with over 540 students, located in North Seattle's Phinney Ridge neighborhood. Requirements

Minimum of two years' experience working with school-age children, preferably in a school environment.
Ability to foster social and academic growth among children.
Genuine care and concern for students.
Ability to collaborate with their partner teacher, other staff members, and parents.
Dependable work ethic and reliable.
Show initiative and be a self-starter.
Flexible and adaptable.
Calm and caring presence.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand for long periods of time, kneel and sit on the floor, and be active with children.

Responsibilities

Assist and work collaboratively with the second-grade teacher.
Support primary department teachers and assistants.
Prepare materials, projects, and assignments.
Facilitate small groups and centers.
Work with students who have a diverse set of needs and learning styles.
Help maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment.
Assist the teacher with children and daily routines.
Supervise students in various locations, including outdoor recess, specialists, field trips, and snack/lunch time.
Close out the school day and prepare the classroom for the morning.
Greet students at the start and end of the day.
Model and encourage social, emotional skills and regulation.
Maintain confidentiality at all times.
