About The Position

This position is for an anticipated opening for a Grade 1 Teacher. The role involves teaching district-approved curriculum, developing lesson plans, and providing individualized and small group instruction tailored to student needs. The teacher will translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences, maintain effective classroom behavior, and evaluate student academic and social growth. Additionally, the role requires regular communication with parents and identifying student needs for appropriate referrals and individual education plans.

Requirements

• One or more years’ experience teaching Pre K-2
• Certification

Responsibilities

• Teaches district approved curriculum
• Develops lesson plans and instructional material
• Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil
• Translates lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences
• Communicates regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere
• Evaluates pupils’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports
• Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals
• Develops strategies for individual education plans
