About The Position

As a third-year pharmacy intern at CVS Health, the employee works as part of the pharmacy team under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The role supports a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment and delivers care to patients while contributing to CVS Health’s goals of increasing access, lowering costs, and improving quality of care. Responsibilities span patient safety, pharmacy professional practice, regulatory requirements, quality assurance, customer service, inventory management, and workflow management, excluding final prescription verification.

The intern helps keep customers and patients healthy through patient-care programs, demonstrates empathy and compassion, collaborates to improve outcomes, aligns others with the organization’s purpose, and fosters a caring, energetic, enthusiastic, and proud team culture. Required training and any applicable licensure must be completed within state guidelines and required timeframes. Once state regulations are met, interns are encouraged to provide patient immunizations as an essential pharmacist function.

This is a part-time position. The stated pay range is $20.00–$23.75. Depending on hours worked and eligibility, benefits include dental and vision coverage, wellness resources, employee discounts, access to certain voluntary benefits, and other programs.

Requirements

• Accepted into or actively enrolled in an ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• 0–3 years of relevant work experience.
• Must possess or be in the process of obtaining valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Complete all required training within state guidelines and the required timeframe.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, scan, and bag items; occasionally lift up to 20 lbs and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, and negligible force constantly to move objects.
• Finger dexterity for picking, pinching, typing, or other work primarily using fingers.
• Ability to reach overhead and extend hands and arms in multiple directions to place, move, or lift items.
• Precision control to adjust machines to exact positions.
• Ability to stoop, bend at the waist, and use lower extremities and back muscles to move items between low and high positions.
• Close visual acuity for tasks such as transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visually inspecting small parts.
• Ability to communicate information and instructions orally to colleagues and customers.
